It’s definitely a whole lotta car!
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Good news is I can easily sleep in it when my wife kicks me out of the house. Just need to ask if it’d be a temporary or permanent situation.

Love how these photos were taken at sunset so either everything is washed out in light or completely blacked out in shadow.
“Damn there’s a glare. Here let me step back”
“Much better"

a whole lotta car wagon, a whole lotta wagon, a whole lotta Rosie
Anybody buying this would be well in their rights to name it Rosie. Because of reasons.

You could park an entire new
Fiat 500 in area that hood takes up.

I feel like Craigslist needs to have a tutorial on proper photography techniques on the front page. Half the ads have pictures that are either like this, taken at night, or the owner only takes two steps away from the car and barely gets a single door in the shot.

I don’t normally name cars, but this one definitely needs a name.

I want one of those battle cruiser sized wagons so bad.
But I already have a big vehicle, and I don’t have the spare cash and parking space needed for another one.

i hope this goes to some 17 year old kid who will do donuts and go one road trips with 7 friends with it. A car like this demands to make memories in it.

A 17 year old kid would definitely try to make memories in this car, mostly while in park.

thats true, horizontal memories are usually the best kind.

Oh god damn, if that had been in my state, I would have been ALL OVER THAT. Fffff....

I have some extra money. It’s technically earmarked for something else, but I’m hopeful I can convince my wife to let me dip into it for another vehicle. It may not be this, but it would definitely be in the running.

If it also had the rear facing seat it would be even better.

If they're not competent enough to take reasonable pictures how competent are they in maintenance or not curbing every sidewalk.

With a car this siz e hitting curbs is expected. Thankfully it sits high enough that only the wheels are at risk of damage.
As far as pictures I’m betting the owner is old enough that getting pictures from the phone to a Craigslist ad is the extent of their technical abilities. I doubt they’re a cell phone photography master in the best circumstances.
At $1500 I would fully expect it to need some work, but everything on this car would be pretty easy to fix.

According to the Internet, that car weighs over 4,000 pounds and makes 161 horsepower.
![]() 10/17/2018 at 17:12 |

The specs I found said 4600lbs. It would definitely not be a good car if you were in a hurry to get anywhere.

Fords never had rear facing seats, only side-facing.

Id rock it. The one side needs some dents worked out, but 1500 what quality do you expect ? It definitely has potential as a proper land barge

What did you do to get kicked out of the house?
Left the toilet seat up again, eh?
![]() 10/17/2018 at 20:19 |
|
Nope, toilet seat stays down to keep her “special” cat from swimming in the bowl.
If I do buy the car I might be sleeping in it. She’s coming around to the idea of me buying an old car but doesn’t share my love of massive wagons.

I figure that depending on the condition of the floors this could be a damn good price. The pictures aren’t great, but if there’s rust it must be minor on the body.
![]() 10/17/2018 at 20:21 |

Man, I think side facing is even cooler.

Make sure the 2-way “magic” tailgate works before you buy it, if not use it as a bargaining chip as there is a lot of stuff to go wrong in there and they are a bastard to get working (says the guy who might be driving to long island this weekend to buy a third tailgate to rob parts off in hopes of making 1 working one for his ‘87).
![]() 10/17/2018 at 20:43 |
|
Magic tailgate; is that referring to where it opens to the side or flops down?
![]() 10/17/2018 at 20:48 |
|
Yes. I will only go down if the window mech works so the window fully retracts, and the sensor tells it the window is down, and the linkages are not binding or mis-aligned. Basically there is a lot to go wrong, and the missing tailgate panel makes me suspect someone has been in there messing with it

Great, thanks for the tip. I’m sweet talking the wife to let me check it out Friday evening.

And always plan your trip so that you will be able to take on fuel.
